DescriptionNo clear statement regarding publication in the 'Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society'. Doubts the value of the paper as a contribution to knowledge. 'I dare say you will curse me for being so long-winded but is it a penalty you have to pay for allocating the paper to be referred to a man who has become so old and imbecile that he cannot form a decided opinion on any subject'.
