Title | Letter from Edwin Ray Lankester, on a paper 'Researches on the structure, organisation, and classification of the fossil reptilia. Part X. On the complete skeleton of an anomodont reptile (Aristodesmus Rütimeyeri, Wiedersheim), from the bunter sandstone of reihen, near basel, giving new evidence of the relation of the anomodontia to the monotremata' by Henry Govier Seeley to the Secretary of the Royal Society |
Date | 17 May 1896 |
Description | The author should realise that the way in which he attempts to advance his views are 'absurdly verbose and wearisome'. The paper includes crude and little-warranted generalisations. The referee has esteem for the author's work but the diffuse way in which he communicates it 'needs some severe checks'. The introductory and concluding parts of the paper should be omitted and the descriptive part should be reduced so that it is suitable for Proceedings.
