TitleReferee's report by John Perry, on a paper 'Underground temperature at Oxford in the year 1899 as determined by five platinum resistance thermometers' by Arthur Alcock Rambaut
Date5 June 1900
DescriptionSectional committee: Physics and chemistry

Recommended for publication in Philosophical Transactions in full and all illustrations should be reproduced. It is evidently intended that the observations will be continued for a few years and therefore it might seem that this paper is only a preliminary one whose results may be superceded. However it is in truth a complete paper of special value as these observations were made in gravel of varying dampness and because there is so much more consistency than might have been expected in the deduced values of the conductivity.
