TitleReferee's report by Francis Gotch, on a paper 'The retinal current of the frog's eye, excited by light and excited electrically' by Dr Augustus Desire Waller
DateApril 1900
DescriptionSectional committee: Physiology

Recommended for publication in Philosophical Transactions in full. The manuscript needs some verbal alterations before being put into type, for instance the omission of the use of the articles before substantives. The illustrations might be reduced in number. Thinks the following figures might be omitted: figure 3a; one of the two figures on page nine; figure ten (previously published); figures four and five (since the figures and tables give better indications of the results). The author makes no reference to the electromotive phenomena of other epithelial tissues such as the frog's tongue. The electrical currents of the frog's eye are in many respects very similar in character to the above, and as a considerable amount of work has been carried out on such epithelial tissues, it is desirable that the present communication should indicate this.
