With proper editing the paper is recommended for publication in Philosophical Transactions. It might be reduced with advantage but it is difficult to indicate what should be left out. Proper justice is not given to previous work on this subject and the introduction should allow the reader to understand the present state of knowledge when the author took up the question. The maps should be given on a reduced scale and some of the sections might be omitted. He only has a very general acquaintance with the voluminous literature on this subject and has therefore had to form his opinions mainly from internal[?] evidence. The suggestion that the Monzoni intrusions are of comparatively recent date, possibly Tertiary, has been made by Salomon. If Professor Lapworth will edit the paper, het hinks it may be published.
