TitleReferee's report by Louis Compton Miall, on a paper 'Variation' by James Cossar Ewart
Date26 March 1900
DescriptionSectional committee: not stated

The paper contains a large number of experimental results and facts of observations which cannot fail to command the attention of biologists but does not think the form of the paper well suited to the Proceedings. It would have been very profitable if these valuable additions to knowledge had been closely discussed and the inferences there from clearly stated at the time. Finds in many places theoretical or controversial remarks which are seldom closely connected with the facts just related. The author should be told that the paper is too long for publication in the 'Proceedings' and it would be more acceptable if divided into sections as separate papers each dealing with a definite question or set of facts.
