TitleReferee's report by James Dewar, on a paper 'An investigation of the spectra of flames resulting from operations in the open hearth and 'basic' bessemer processes' by Walter Noel Hartley and Hugh Ramage
Date5 January 1901
DescriptionSectional committee: [Physics and chemistry]

Recommended for publication in Philosophical Transactions. The paper is a continuation of work in this subject, so this paper should also be published there after effective pruning. As there are no technical results of admitted importance, the paper must solely be regarded from the scientific side. The detailed records from page seven to 25 might be eliminated all together and the tables on pages 48-50 are quite unnecessary.

[Published in Philosophical Transactions A, 1901].

Endorsed on verso as received 7 January 1901.
