Title | Referee's report by Francis Darwin, on a paper 'The histology of Uredo dispera, Erikss, and the 'Mycoplasm' Hypothesis' by Harry Marshall Ward |
Date | March 1903 |
Description | Sectional Committee: Botany
Recommended for publication in Philosophical Transactions. All those parts of the paper bearing obviously and directly on the mycoplasm theory should 'undoubtedly' be published. Would suggest to the author that the history of the germination of the spore and the entry of the germ tube might form a separate paper. This does not apply to the part of the paper on the development of the corpuscles. Generally the paper would gain by condensation. The paper is over-illustrated and Darwin lists many figures which may be omitted. No general remarks given.
