Title | Referee's report by Ernest William Hobson, on a paper 'A memoir on the theory of order as defined by boundaries' by Edward T Dixon |
Date | November 1904 |
Description | Sectional Committee: Mathematics
Not recommended for publication in Philosophical Transactions. It appears to Hobson that the work in the paper is vitiated by the notion of 'contiguous units' in an assemblage. The definition of continuity in accordance with this motion, given on page 17 is inadequate. It is possible that something might be made of the work of the paper if the fundamental conceptions were altered, but in its present form at least, it seems that the paper ought not to be published.
