Title | Referee's report by William Banjamin Carpenter, on the Croonian Lecture 'On the influence exercised by the movements of respiration on the circulation of the blood' by John Scott Burdon-Sanderson |
Date | 4 June 1867 |
Description | Recommended for publication in the 'Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society'. Refers to work of Carl Ludwig and Pavel Petrovich Einbrodt. 'I think it right to state that I can not by any means regard these results, obtained by experiments upon animals in a condition more or less abnormal, as altogether satisfactory. In order to determine the normal relations of the phenomena in question, it appears to me that they should be carefully studied in the human subject after the manner of Dr Marey [Étienne-Jules Marey]'.
