TitleReferee's report by Felix Eugen Fritsch, on a paper 'The structure of the cell wall in some species of the filamentous green alga Cladophora' by William Thomas Astbury and Reginald Dawson Preston
DateMarch 1940
DescriptionSectional committee: Botany

Recommended for publication in Proceedings. Some of the figures could be omitted and the remaining ones could be grouped together on one plate. Material about the third species should be send to the Natural History department in the British Museum for identification. The importance of correct determination in the paper 'cannot be overestimated'. One of the statements on filamentous forms seems incorrect and should be modified. The content of the paper will not be of value to the 'enemy'.

[Published in Proceedings of the Royal Society B, 1940].
