TitleLetter from Harold Brewer Hartley, to Alfred Charles Glyn Egerton, regarding two papers 'The infra-red spectra of polymers and related monomers. I' and 'The infra-red spectra of polymers and related monomers. II' by Harold Warris Thompson and P Torkington
Date22 June 1944
DescriptionSectional Committee: Chemistry

Has doubts about the wisdom of publishing the details at present, as they have been useful for investigations into fuels, and may be of use to the enemy. In correspondence with the Government Chemist, John Jacob Fox, tho thinks the paper should be printed confidentially, in the same manner as a paper by Eric Keightley Rideal. A similar paper has recently been published in America, but the current paper is more detailed and more of a risk. Has recently asked the Americans not to publish such papers.
