TitleReferee's report by Charles Galton Darwin, on a paper 'The effect of an electric field on the viscosity of liquids' by Edward Neville Da Costa Andrade and C Dodd
Date1945
DescriptionSectional committee: Physics

Recommended for publication in Proceedings, in two parts. The hypothsis is overly elaborate and some parts aren't justified enough. The authors have 'stretched out their neck unnecessarily and may get into trouble', but they can be left to face the consequences. The paper follows on from fifteen years ago which was rejected by the Royal Society for publishing, against his recommendation. This makes a strong case for the present paper.

[Published in Proceedings of the Royal Society A, 1946].
