TitleReferee's report by Edward John Routh, on a paper 'Ellipsoidal harmonic analysis' by George Howard Darwin
DateMay 1901
DescriptionSectional committee: Mathematics

Recommended for publication in Philosophical Transactions though he has not had time to examine the algebraical processes minutely. There is no part which could be omitted without introducing great obscurity into the remainder. Two novelties entitle the paper to publication; the expressions of the functions of the second line and the evaluation of the integrals of the squares of the functions taken over the surface. Both these are important steps, particularly the latter, even if only affected approximately.
