TitleLetter from Charles Chambers, on his paper 'On the luni-solar variations of magnetic declination and horizontal force at Bombay, and of declination at Trevandrum' to John William Strutt, Lord Rayleigh
Date23 September 1886
DescriptionHe is prepared to remove or modify any expressions in which he 'may have seemed to theorize as to the mode of physical causation by which the phenomena dealt with are connected or produced'. However, he cannot find any such expressions. He believes he owes 'no acknowledgement of aid received from Broun's writings'. He does not understand the misapprehensions about his paper and for the first time in his life, he has assumed an 'attitude of antagonism towards Dr [Balfour] Stewart'.
