OtherInfoMorley was a friend of Edward Hyde's, 1st Earl of Clarendon (FRS 1665), through whose memoirs most of the information about Morley's early career at Oxford can be gathered. He played a prominent role in resisting the parliamentary visitation of Oxford in 1647, for which he was ultimately ejected in spring 1648. He was not active in the Society's work and was considered exempt from payment.
