General context | Aside from his profession as a physician, Robinson was also accomplished at botany and regularly corresponded with his good friend John Ray (FRS 1667). Ray credits his assistance in his works 'Historia plantarum' (1686) and 'Synopsis stirpium' (1690). He travelled throughout Europe after finishing at Cambridge and met Marcello Malpighi (FRS 1669) whilst in Bologna in 1683. |
