Inscribed at foot of title-page: This Book was presented to the / Royal Society by the Author / Octobr. 17. 1728 ; on verso of title-page a long annotation by De Morgan, dated January 20, 1857, re-presenting the book and noting his view that the Royal Society Library was at one time 'deliberately expurgated of the works which were supposed to reflect upon Newton, or to be in any way favourable to Leibnitz or his system'.
