Informs he is at present collecting material on what has been done or suggested in Television both historical and present, for the purpose of a paper he has promised to deliver at the Royal Society of Arts. Comments that Mr Alexanderson, of the General Electric Company of America, has sent him a copy of his recent paper on the subject. He is aware that experiments are being carried out in France, employing cathode rays. Maintains that the use of cathode rays would enable all mechanically moving parts to be disposed with, whilst speeds could be attained that are not attainable with mechanically moving parts. |
