Title | Letter from [Alan Archibald Campbell] Swinton, to H. R. Trenow [Esquire] |
Creator | Swinton; Alan Archibald Campbell (1863-1930); British electrical engineer |
Date | 2 August 1927 |
Description | Informs he has read the papers sent with a previous letter commeting it appears to him that in the ase set forth in the two numbers of the Tramways & Light Railways Association Journal of November and December 1917, the Blackpool and Fleetwood Tramroad Company won their case in the County Court but that from the Memorandum of the Tramways & Light Railways Association written in red, send to him, the P. M. G. appealed again, and their appeal was dismissed in the Court of Appeal on 18 October 1920. In order to enable them to form a proper opinion of their case, they ought to have a full copy of the Court of Appeal's judgement of 18 October 1920. They also ought to have a copy of Section 65 of the Blackpool Tramways Act 1896. Suggests seeking information from Mr Turkheim but otherwise the matter ought to be handled by a lawyer with relevant experience. Intends to retain the aforementioned papers until he hears back. |
