Title | Letter from [Alan Archibald Campbell] Swinton, to McLennan |
Creator | Swinton; Alan Archibald Campbell (1863-1930); British electrical engineer |
Date | 23 April 1929 |
Description | Informs that the Institution of Electrical Engineers have been offered four marble busts, a little larger than life size, of Galileo, Volta, Torricelli, and Galvani, for £100 the lot. He has been to see the busts on behalf of the Institution, commenting on their quality and appearance. Has told the Secretary of the Institution of Electrical Engineers that he is communicating with McLennan about him as a possible vicarious purchaser. Believes the busts are cheap and will be recommending that the Institution buys at least one of them, that of Galvani. |
