DescriptionAware that the question recently raised in the Electrician of the priority between Swan and Edison for the incandescent lamp, which was to be discussed at the Council meeting yesterday afternoon. Does not know what was settled but mentions he wrote a letter which appeared in the Electrician for 10 May, enclosing a copy, which he believes ought to be presented before Council before the arrive at a final decision. Discusses the Abstract of Patents appended to the second volume of "Electrical Illumination" by James Dredge, and Mr St. George Lane Fox's patenting of an incandescence lamp with a filament formed of an alloy of platinum and iridium.
