Events in Grantham and Woolsthorpe, Lincolnshire in 1927 to mark the bicentenary of the death of Isaac Newton.
Prominent local people and invited guests visit Woolsthorpe Manor and Stoke Rochford to mark the occasion. Next there are shots of crowds and a procession outside the Guildhall in Grantham on the following day. We see shots of the procession laying wreaths at the Isaac Newton statue. Lengthy processions from the Guildhall to St Wulfram's Church, and thence to the Newton statue, culminate in a wreath-laying ceremony. Staff and boys from King's School take a prominent part. |
