Description | ' The Officers will have read of the crash of the aircraft carrying members of the Eclipse Expedition and of the lamented death of Dr Baxter. The two other members of the expedition on board the aircraft, Dr Hunter and Mr Strong, have suffered injuries and the spectroscopic equipment has been smashed. It will not, therefore, be possible to carry out the expedition as planned. It is, however, proposed that the radio noise observtions will be carried out. This will require in addition to the radio expert one other member of the British party. The amount of £1.200 already allocated by Council for the expedition will be adequate for this and the Chairman of the Joint Permanent Eclipse Committee seeks Council's authority for the diversion of the money allotted to cover the cost of the radio noise expedition as opposed to the spectroscopic observations.
