Description | Expresses his wish for Blagden to write to him more often. Describes experiments done by Gay Lussac and Thenard to obtain caustic potash [potassium hydroxide] and soda and to extract metals. His son has been repeating his experiments on the decomposition of ammonia. Mr Laplace sends his compliments is coming to give a new edition of the "Système du monde". The translation of Thomson's work is not yet finished but it will probably be done by the end of June. |
