TitleLetter from E [Edwin] Ray Lankester, British Museum, Cromwell Road, to the Secretary of the Joint Antarctic Finance Committee, the Royal Society
Date6 December 1905
DescriptionIn preparation for the publication of the results from the National Antarctic Expedition, the trustees of the British Museum have obtained specialists from various groups to determine and work out functions of the collections. In most cases, these gentleman are giving their services gratuitously. In some instances, requests have been made for payment and aid for purchasing the apparatus to carry out research and to cover the cost of out of pocket expenses.

As the trustees have no funds for the payment of such expenses, the letter appeals to the Joint Antarctic Finance Committee for £250.
