Discusses the scheme for the higher education of ex-service officers and men of like educational qualifications, administrated by the Board of Education. Notes the scheme's recent extension, to permit a limited number of eligible men to take courses at foreign universities. Proposes to establish a small Committee, the Service Students (Foreign University) Committee'. Lists the functions of the Committee. Explains that the representative of the Education Board on the Committee will be Mr Twentyman of the Special Inquiries and Reports Branch, and that the Committee's Secretary will be Mr E. G. Howarth, who is Secretary of the Service Students Bureau of the Board.
Is directed by Mr H. A. L. Fisher to invite the Royal Society to nominate a representative to the Committee. |
