Description | Giving his recollectiosn of the Council meeting of 1 November, at which the possibility of a Kelvin Centenary celebration was discussed. F. E Smith was present and might give a better account. The writer notes that he extemporised what a possible event might look like, including a conversazione at the building of the Institution of Electrical Engineers 'our Rooms not being big enough'. Council would not like to face substantial expenses, but that would hardly be necessary. If the Society took part, it should lead and pay its fair share. Council was taken with the idea of doing something for a large number of foreign engineers, especially Americans, who might be over to see the British Empire Exhibition. |
