Description | Atkinson describes the case of a woman who had a large tumour on her inner thigh and buttocks and a second tumour on her back, causing difficulty breathing. Atkinson made an incision in the thigh tumour after some time and drained its contents. He did the same for the back tumour and the patient recovered. The operations occurred at Stratford in Essex [now part of London].
