| Description | Lister describes the appearances of some Roman urns found 'in the road [...] and likewise by the riverside' in York.
He describes three types of urn -- those with 'a blewish grey colour' and rough sand mixed in with the clay; those with the same colour but made from clay mixed with mica; and 'red urnes of fine clay with little, or noe sand in it' -- and goes on to discuss their composition and appearance in greater detail, including glazing methods and inscriptions.
