| Description | Prepared by Sir William Crookes for the Glassworkers' Cataracts committee. Describes his visit to the glass works to take photographs of the spectrum of radiation emitted by the molten glass 'and thereby gain information as to the rays likely to injure the eyes of the workmen most frequently exposed to the radiations'. Suggests that a kind of pale green glass used at Kew has been proved opaque against ultra-red rays and thinks that spectacles or screens of this glass might help the workers. |
