It was agreed to hold the next meeting in October or November 1977

Recommendations;

Minute 6 - That the Unitred Kingdom subscription to the Internatinal Union of Geological Sciences with effect from 1977-8 be increased from 4500 dollars (30 units at 150 dollars per unit) to 5000 dollars (25 units at 200 dollars per unit), subject to the necessary provision in the Parliamentary Grant-in-aid (subscriptions) 1977-8.

Minute 10 - That a formal invitation be issued to the International Association of Engineering Geology to hold a symposium on engineering geology mapping, at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne in August or September 1979.

Minute 19 - That the Petroleum Exploration Society of Great Britain be added to the list of bodies entitled to nominate a representative to serve on the National Committee for Geology.
