Terms of reference;
a. It was reported that Council fo the Royal Society, at its meeting on 18 May 1972, had agreed that a Subcommittee on the History of Geological Sciences be appointed by the National Committee for Geology (which decision was subsequently implemented by the National Committee for Geology on 17 July 1972) the main function of the Subcommittee being to correspond with (and to) the International Committee on the History of Geological Sciences (INHIGEO) on behalf of the United Kingdom.
b. It was noted that the Subcommittee should report not only to the National Committee for Geology , but also to the National Committee for the History of Science, Medicine and Technology.
