Matters discussed; 1. Minutes held on 11 February 1966 [WA/7 (66)]
2. Opening of the exhibition - additional names to be considered, as Duke of Edinburgh and Lord Mountbatten unavailable
3. Brochure - Professor A R Hall congratulated on the excellence of the brochure
4. Portraits - photographs rather than originals to be used
5. Design of exhibition - proposals presented by Mr Lansdell, including suggestion that the model of Jodrell Bank shoudl be pointed at a portrayal of a radios source (eg Cygnus) in the dome roof of this part of the exhibition. Attempt to be made to borrow a Herschel telescope from the Whipple Museum. Mr Lansdell to have separate meetings with each organizer to settle final details.
6. Loan of items for exhibition - sections to make their own preliminary arrangements, though formal letters could be provided by the Royal Society, and formal responsibility for the care fo the items to rest with the Abbey. Organizer's to proivide Mr Lansdell with a list.
7. Restroom for technicians and other attendants to be arranged
8. Publicity - to be arranged by the Abbey. Mr Studley Mmason, the Abbey's press officer, to attend the next meeting.
9. Next meeting - 27 May 1966, aagenda to include the brochure, a catalogue of exhibits, publicity and arrangements for the opening ceremony. |
