Minutes of meeting on 12 April read and confirmed

Confirmed by Dr Sharpey that Dr Wyville Thomsn had been given leave of absence by the Senators of the University of Edinburgh.

Resolved Treasurer to apply to Government Grant Committee for £250 for scientific instruments.

Resolved a letter be written to the Under Secretary of State for India [copy in Letter Book page 363] after considering the referred letter from Secretary of the Asiatic Society of Bengal, and the Resolution by Council of 18 April
