Mr Colwall suggested someone might be taken into the Society's service to collect their arrears, and was empowered to employ a suitable person, and reward him, the reward to not exceed one shilling in the pound
Voted that Richard Shortgrave be henceforth paid for his work for the Society, but not by the week
Sir Robert Moray mentioned that the Lord Massareen had formerly, by a letter desired Mr Boyle and himself, that they would engage themselves for one hundred pounds, which he gave to the use of the Society. As that letter was in the President's hands, he was asked to bring it with him to the next meeting of the Council
Consideration was given to to the problem of arrears, and it was decided that those those most frequently present at the meetings of the Council and Society should be asked to speak to their acquaintances to urge payment.
Sir Anthony Morgan mentioned that the Bishop of London not yet having signed the Report of the Lords Referrees concerning Chelsey College, it had not yet been presented to the King. He added that the Attorney General had declared, that his Majesty granting only what right he had to Chelsey College, Mr Cole could not at all be prejudiced by that grant. |
