Description | Present at the Council: Lord Bishop of Exeter, Vice-president; Sir Robert Moray; Sir Anthony Morgan; Sir George Ent; Dr John Wilkins; Mr Dudley Palmer; Mr Daniel Colwall; Mr John Creed; Mr Henry Oldenburg
The Council considered the people who were most likely to attend the business of the Council for the next year.
Ordered that the Secretary visits Mr Henry Howard of Norfolk at Arundel House and inform him of their appreciation of hs civilities and respects to the Socity, which they also intend to acknowledge publicly when he honours the Society with a visit to one of their meetings.
Ordered that at the next Council it will be considered where the Socieety may meet in future, Gresham College being very inconvenient to meet in by reason of its too great distance from the habitations of the greatest number of the Society, especially at this season of the year.
Mention was made of hiring a house somewhere in the City of Westminster, and Dr Wilkins offered to contribute something towards it, if he could have some rooms in it. |
