Ordered Dr Wilkins to write a letter from the Council to the Earl of Sandwich, thanking him for his respects to the Society and his celestial observations , their apologies for not corresponding with regarding the observations, and attaching the details fo the late solar exlipse observed at London, Paris and Dantzick, and also some experiments recently made in the Society.
Ordered that the accounts concerning Mr Hook be stated by the Treasurer, so that it can be revealed what Mr Hook has already received, and what remains due to him according to the several orders formerly made by Council; then the Treasurer to pay Mr Hook what shall appear remaining due to him.
Ordered that the Treasurer present the sum of forty pounds to Mr oldenburg for the pains he has taken on behalf of the Society.
Voted, 'the Mr Hook be desired to promise by his handwriting, to observe the Ends, for which the report from Sir John Cutler, entered in the Journal-book of the Society November 9, 1664, affirms the £50 per annum to be given him by the said Sir John Cutler.'
Ordered that the President be asked to draw up a form for such a Promise to be subscribed to by Mr Hook. |
