The Council cnsidered the greater convenience for the Society meeting on Thursday rather than Wednesday. Voted that the fourth Chapter of their Laws, which aoints the ordinary weekly meetings of the Society to be on Wednesdays, shall be repealed.'
Voted also, that at the next meeting of the Council, the following draft, for the Society's meeting on Thursday hereafter be presented;
' The ordinary meetings of the Society shall be weekly upon Thursday, beginning about three of the clock in the afternoon, and coninying untill six, unlesse the major part of the Fellows present, shall for that time, resolve to rise sooner or sit longer. And no Fellow shall depart without giving notice to the President.
Ordered, that the Treasurer pay the Operator (acccording to statute) the yearly salary of ten pounds, from the time, that the payment made to the said Operator, of twenty shillings per week has ceased.
Ordered that the Treasurer pay to Ellen Collet, her arrears and add to her yearly allowance, five shillings a quarter beginning from Christmas 1666.
Mr Hook delivered a Paper to the Council, signed and sealed by him, containing a renewal of his promise and undertaking of reading 16 Lectures a year, upon such particular matters, as the said Society shall direct. This Paper was committed to the Secretary. |
