Ordered the Treasurer to pay Robert Hooke forty five pounds for his allowance as Curator of the Experiments of the Society for one year and a half ending this 24 June.
Moved by Mr Hooke that Mr Joseph Lane Controller of the Chamber of Landeon, lately elected a member, asked to be excused from the usual payments, alledging he would otherwise promote the design and good of the Society, and to be assistant to them in matters of Law. Agreed and ordered that he should be excused from the payments upon his subscribing the engagement to performing the other duties incumbent upon a Fellow of the Society.
Ordered that Mr Hooke go to the Library at Arundel House to meet there Sir William Dugdale Garter King of Arms and receive his proposals concerning the books of that Library which concern Heraldry and Genealogy or the History of the family of Norfolk which his Grace reserved when he formerly granted the rest to the Society, and that Sir John Hoskins and Mr Hill and Mr Hall be also asked to accompany him upon Friday next at 3 in the afternoon. |
