Ordered seven sets of presses more to be made to fill up the south side of the Library, and Mr Perry is to arrange (as has been computed that it can be done) that the whole Arundel Library may be contained in that side. Mr Ent's books to be placed between the windows, in order to start the library of philosophical books on the window side.
Ordered Mr Hunt to provide a stamp as directed for the new books and such as are ordered to be bound.
Ordered that Mr Hill, Mr Aston and Mr Perry be a Committee to enquire what books are lent abroad and to send for them and dispose them in the Library, and Mr Perry to add them to his catalogue.
Ordered that Obligations be printed and bound together in one book, one kind with the penalty of ten pounds for printed books, another of fifty pounds for manuscripts. These Obligations are to remain in the Librarian's hands and to be signed and sealed by the borrower and cancelled (when the book is returned) by the Librarian.
Ordered that Sir John Hoskyns, Sir John Lowther, Mr Henshaw, Mr Hill, Dr King and Mr Hook to be a Committee to meet at Man's Coffee House next Friday, halkf an hour after three, in order to go by water to Chelsey College to discuss the neighbourhood there in relation to the Society's interest in the public way.
Ordered the map Mr Hunt brought in is to be kept with the Charter and other writings. Mr Hunt to attend the Committee at Chelsey next Friday with the map.
Ordered that Mr Lane be added to the Committee appointed on 4 May for sealing the writings and Mr Hook is asked to act in this affair to arrange a meeting between Mr Lane and Sir John Hoskyns.
Dr Croon reported that Mr Rossington has no further proposal about taking Chelsey College.
Mr Henshaw proposed that Mr Clark near the Bowling Alley in Chelsey is willing to becime a Tenant for the College, and to give £20 per annum if the Society do not take on Mr Hutton. |
