Ordered that Sir Robert Moray and Sir Paul Neile be asked to consilt with Lord Ashley concerning the propriety of asking his Majesty to give a Rule to the two Secretaries of Stat that all proposals made concerning mechanical inventions be referred to the Council of the Royal Society to be examined by them for thier novelty, reality and usefulness.
Sir Robert Moray was asked to obtain full information on Chelsea College, which he promised to do.
It was judged better that the King grant Chelsea College first to another, and then the Society buy it from such a donee, that they should get it for themselves directly.
Mr Hook was ordered to prepare his engine with one wheel for ease and speedy carriage, and also his circular hourglass with several cells therin, and the picture on a wall in a light room.
Ordered Mr Hook to produce one of his microscopical discourses at every meeting of the Society, in reference to be printed by order of the Society.
Ordered that several committees be appointed for the consideration and improvement of several subjects of Philosophy. |
