The President returned the Society's seal, which was put into the chest with three locks: the Diploma of Monsieur Hevelius having been sealed bearing date of May 11th, 1664 and being sent by sea to Denmark
The President and Sir robert Moray moved on behalf of Mr Povey the reimbursement of £23 which he stated he had expended on behalf of the Society by order 0f the Council while treating with Dr Killegrew for the Savoy for the Society's use; though the negotiations proved successful, some of the conditions were considerd by Council to be unacceptable. Ordered that the Treasurer reimburse Mr Povey his £23
Ordered that the President, Sir Robert Moray and Sir Paul Neile speak with Mr Williamson concerning the best way of procuring from his Majesty the Grant of Chelsea College.
Ordered Sir Robert Moray to speak with Mr Cole, and tell him that once the Society had obtained the Grant of Chelsea College, both the house and the land belonging to it, they will then contract with him for the interest in that land, at a marketable rate. |
