' Ordered that a letter be written to Sir John Lawrence : to assure him, that upon the assigning of the 250 pounds in the East India Stock, in discharge of his Trust and at the desires of my Lord Carbery, Mr Hunt shall deliver him up his declaration of Trust given to the Societys use.
Upon the report of the Committee for inspecting Dr Grews Index to the Repository, that it was a full Index to the Museum, and that they approved of it. This Councell concurred with their Committee and are willing to Licence it, and to encouraage the Printing thereof are content to take 60 of them.
The Vicepresident signed an order for 20 pounds for half a years Salary to the Operator due July 14th last, and another for 6 pounds and 10 shillings, being for paper to print off the Cutts of 50 books of Fishes.
Mr Perry was desired to gett the Books which the Society had lately of Mr Witstein in exchange for some Books of Fishes, to be bound plain in Calves Leither and to have it done as reasonably as may be.
The Vicepresident was desired to speak with Mr Charles Goodwin about the six pounds per annum which for some years has been unpaid out of the Fee=farm rents of the Priory of Lewis.
Mr Clayton, Mr Stillingfleet, Mr Adair and Mr Gresham were ballotted and approved to be Elected.
Sir John Hoskyns, Dr Gale, Mr Perry and Mr Waller were made a Committee to inspect the Originall Ppapers of the Society to see what are fit to be registred. ' |
