' The Deeds of Conveyance of the Estate at Acton from Mr William Pannet and Mrs Elizabeth Grisdall to the Royal Society, were delivered in by the Treasurer, and put in the Strong Box.
The Treqasurer shewed the Council the piece of Plate intended for the Present to the late Treasurer, in pursuance of an Order fo the last Council; it being a Silver Salver of the Weight of [blank] Ounces, with the Arms of the Society engaved on it, and an Inscription in these Words ;
"S. Regal. Londine Rogero Gale Arm. ob Quaesturan bene et fideliter gestam. d. D."
And the same was ordered to be presented accordingly.
The Treasurer took out of the Chest two South Sea bonds, in order to have them paid off, and was desired to purchase two others in lieu of them.
It being represented that Mr Lecester had, in paying off his Contribution, paid over and above what was due upon the terms of Composition : it was ordered, that Mr Hauksbee should state the Accompt, and pay back to Mr Leycester so much as shall appear to be overpaid, and deliver up his Bond.
The Gentlemen of the Committee to consider of a proper Medal for the honorary Prize on Sir Godfrey Copley's Donation, brought a Design, which was approved of : and they were desired to consult about the proper means to procure Leave for a Medal to be struck.
It was represented that the Lord Tyrconnel desired to have liberty to pay off his Contributions upon the Terms formerly granted. Which was agreed to, and it was Ordered that Lord Tyrconnel have Leave to take up his Bond upon the payment of twenty five Pounds.
Dr Mortimer represented that many of the Skeletons in the Repository were much out of Repair, and would fall in pieces, if some care were not taken of them. Whereupon he was desired to order what was proper to be done to preserve them. ' |
