The Vice-President ordered, in the name of the President Sir Hans Sloane Bart, and pursuant to his Direction, that the annual Prize on Sir Godfrey Copley's Donation be given to Dr Desaguliers as an addition to his allowance from the Society for the present year.
Mr Machin made a Report in the name of the Auditors of the Treasurer's Accompts on the part of the Council, that the Accompts had been examined, and found to be stated right.

The Sum of twenty Pounds was agreed to by ballot, and ordered to be paid to Mr Zollman for his Salary for the present year.
A Motion being made by Mr Mitchell, and seconded by others in favour of Mr Robins the Mathematician, that he might be exempted from the force of the last Order of Council abouit his Arrears ; and some favourable Indulgence be allowed him to compound for them, in consideration of the bent of his Studies, which are more for the promotion of Knowledge than Profit: It was thereupon put to the Ballot whether Mr Robins shall be free to take up his Bond and be discharged from his Arrears and Contributions upon the payment of ten Guineas : which was carried in the affirmative.
Mr West reported from the Committee appointed to wait on the President to know his Resolution about holding the office of Presidentship, that they had been with him and had received his answer : whereupon he thought it might not be improper to make the Report thereof at the Society, which now waited to proceed upon the Election : which was accordingly ordered.
