Among matters discussed or noted: minutes of the last meeting read and approved. New Members of Council made and subscribed to the declaration in lieu of the oath. Appointment of Vice-Presidents. £250 placed with the Librray Committee for expenses of the Catalogue of Scientific Papers. The Treasurer authorized to invest in Consols £620 from last session for Compositions. The Treasurer reported on a £100 donation for the Publication Fund from Mr. J.S. Budgett of Ealing Park, thanks given. The Treasurer reported that notice was received from the solicitors to the Metropolitan District Railway Company on an application to construct a junction crossing the Society's land at Acton, the Society expressing dissent. Reappointment of committees, with lists of members and terms of reference: the Library Committee; the Soiree and House Committee; the Acton Estate Committee; the Committee to consider reports of the naturalists' attached to the Transit of Venus Expeditions to Kerguelen's Land and Rodriguez; the Government Grant Committee. The seal of the Royal Society affixed to the diplomas of Foreign Members. Professor Flower made a statement ot Council upon which the Secretariesa were to forward a letter to Professor Owen.
