Abel, full text entered into the minutes, relaying the hope of the Prince of Wales that Fellows would participate in the foundation of the Imperial Institute of the United Kingdom, the Colonies and India and soliciting donations from Fellows; a committee set up to consider the letter and to draft a reply. £10 from the Donation Fund to be granted to Dr. Sclater on behalf of Mr. [John Joseph] Quelch, Curator of the Museum of Georgetown, British Guiana, for obtaining specimens of the young Hoatzin. Dr. Scharff given leave to borrow the illustrations from his paper on Osseous fish egg development. Salary of the Assistant Secretary increased by £30 to £280 per annum.
