Title | Kellaway, Charles Halliley: certificate of election to the Royal Society |
Description | Date stamp on reverse. Citation typed |
Citation | As Foulerton Student of the Royal Society, 1920-1923, he published important papers on anaphylaxis and the adrenal glands. He was then appointed Director of the Institute in Melbourne where his work for the last 14 years on the physiological actions and immunology of snake venoms has made him pre-eminent amongst investigators of this subject. Kellaway's contributions to the development of science are not confined to his own discoveries. He has gathered together a band of scientific workers who with his inspiration and guidance have enabled him to make the Walter Hall Institute the most important centre of medical research in Australia. |
