| Citation | Distinguished for her work on cytology, life-history and cultivation of free-living and parasitic Protozoa. Of outstanding merit is her work on malarial parasites especially the discovery of the drug-resistance of these organisms which persists through several generations of the sexual cycle, and the discovery of the cross resistance to substances of different chemical structure.
